I had the privilege to congratulate 30 nurses on their 20th year of service in Donegal. It was inspiring to hear their stories of tears and laughter when they first arrived in 2001, scourging charity shops with their then Irish Punts for winter clothes to brave the harsh Irish weather, only to be able to send money home.
Now they have made Donegal their own abode, working relentlessly to help save lives. A big congratulations to the Filipino Irish Society of Donegal and it was a delight to meet Donegal TD Thomas Pringle who awarded certificates of recognition from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) and Donegal County Council.

A congratulatory video message was also delivered by Philippine Honorary Consul Raymond Garrett. It was truly a humbling moment to honour the noble nursing profession. Local Paper Finn Valley Voice featured the event in Jan 2022.
