Vanda is well known to Northern Sound listeners with her weekly show ‘My Journey Home’.
Ahead of International Women’s Day, the Irish Examiner are celebrating Irish women making positive waves across the country and globally.
The two local women feature in the top 100 women making their mark in Ireland and beyond today.
Vanda is well known to Northern Sound listeners with her weekly show ‘My Journey Home’ and in recent weeks with her new programme ‘The Pleasure and the Pain. The Mullahoran resident is also a freelance news correspondent of The Filipino Channel (TFC News) in Europe, and an advocate for diversity and inclusion.
Ms Brady, a native of the Philippines has received multiple awards for her volunteer work in community development and assistance to migrants and marginalised communities across the region.
Meanwhile, Niamh Smyth has also featured on the list for 2024. Ms Smyth was a member of Cavan County Council from 2009 to 2016.
The Bailieboro woman was elected as the first president of the Fianna Fáil women’s network on 14 September 2015. Ms Smyth has been a TD since 2016 for Cavan and Monaghan and she is also currently the chair of the Oireachtas Media Committee.
